A Monument Builder’s Historic Legacy
The marvelous brick structure that graced the corner of Auburn and Central Avenues in Toledo, Ohio for more than 115 years
with its beautiful murals, handsome marble staircase, and massive wooden doors through which great artistic creations
were transported, is no longer standing. (Demolition teams removed the structure in 2007)

The artistry that was created within those walls however, is woven into the landscape of nearly every cemetery in Toledo as well as cemeteries throughout the region, including Detroit’s Historic Woodlawn, honoring the lives and deaths of thousands, from those of great prominence to the relatively unknown –  each of whom are considered equally significant.

The work of skilled artisans and craftsman also remain evident among structures such as the Toledo Museum of Art, the Civic Center Mall, and the Lucas County Courthouse where stands the statue of President McKinley.

Elsewhere found, are works such as a bronze statue of Booker T. Washington in Tuskegee, AL, the Zero Milestone behind the White House, marking the geographic center of the district of Columbia’s original 10-mile square.  Showrooms in DC and New York brought about commissioned works beyond the United States of America –as far away as Ireland, India, Australia, and Africa.

Today, our manufacturing or monument building is exclusively partnered with a design and manufacturing facility located in Michigan that shares our values and commitment to excellence, specializing in producing all styles and types of guaranteed quality memorials, allowing our services to extend throughout Michigan, Northwest Ohio and the Erie Island communities while living up to the standard the Lloyd family established so long ago.

Though the historic building no longer stands; the tradition of LBW and its commitment to excellence remains strong today.  Bricks and mortar have given-way to the flexibility and convenience of in-home consulting. An arranged appointment offers a warm, friendly, and caring approach to assisting families with designing a memorial tribute. We understand the sensitivity of the subject and believe that families are truly best served when the process begins in the privacy and comfort of home. In addition, our website that so many rely upon, is a helpful resource for information and services.
