Preplan

Consider advanced planning whenever possible. Perhaps the most significant reason to preplan is that it allows the opportunity for sound decision making without the pressure of highly emotional and difficult circumstances.  Advanced planning provides the opportunity to become informed about such matters. 

Many of us have thought as to what we would consider for ourselves, since most of us have seen or visited a cemetery.  Memorials are intended to represent the individual.  Designing something that reflects your taste and interests in life, is an excellent place to start.

Most cemeteries have restrictions as to the type and size of memorial permitted.  Though many offer different options, restrictions can vary from section to section.  Knowledge of this information in advance prevents misunderstandings or disappointment at time of need.

Advanced planning ensures that the desired testament to a life well lived is in place and alleviates such decision making by the family at the time of loss, a kind and thoughtful gesture for those left behind.  It takes the guess work out of the circumstances and assures that significant details or wishes are not inadvertently overlooked.  

Advanced planning also hedges against price increase over time.
